From the ransom note screenshot, it appears the hackers had demanded to speak to someone with the right to pursue Gigabyte's behalf, with whatever contact from strange parties subsequent in the ransom organism raised. On that point's no word on how much money the hackers demanded, only reports note Gigabytes quick action to isolate the hacked servers from the network, and bring topical law enforcement in to superintend the crucial close steps.

According to a Gigabyte representative who spoke to Money UDM, the situation has since been resolute. All affected systems are now operating normally thanks to cooperation between Gigabyte and "technical experts from a number of extraneous information security companies" (translated from Chinese).

The report also indicates that Gigabyte carried out fast defensive cyber attacks in retaliation, and has now reviewed its substructure, strengthening its network security measures to protect from future attacks. This is each great intelligence, merely the hackers could easily still be in posession of the secret docs, and may still exist provision to release them to the public.

It's been a rough few days for GB. With certain PSU models catastrophically failing on camera, the last thing the company needed was to father hacked, too. And with malware evolving constantly, and tech giants beingness so much juicy targets at the moment, companies will indigence to go along stringent measures to ensure their cybersecurity is equal to see—non least those low-level strict NDAs from the big name calling.

Screw sports, Katie would sooner watch Intel, AMD and Nvidia work at it. She can often be found admiring Artificial intelligence advancements, sighing over semiconductors, or gawping at the latest GPU upgrades. She's been obsessed with computers and graphics since she was small, and took Game Art and Design up to Masters degree at uni. Her thirstiness for absurd Raspberry Pi projects will ne'er be sated, and she testament stop at nothing to spread internet safety awareness—down with the hackers.
